Disney Half Marathon

Alright, I told myself that I would never run in another half marathon again but this past Labor Day my Mom and I participated in the Disneyland Half Marathon. One thing I can say is do not do a half marathon if you don't like to run! Another thing to remember is do not do a half marathon when you haven't trained and when your running partner is a Taylor. Even though they didn't train either, they would rather rip both their legs off then let anyone pass them. :) But I knew that coming in so I don't know why I was so surprised when my Mom starting egging me on to run right out of the gate. But it's alright, I was there for only one reason....that really cool Coast to Coast medal. I am not afraid to admit it and you know what? 6,000 others were doing it for the exact same thing. So I flew in early Saturday morning and headed out to Anaheim later that afternoon to attend the expo so we can pick up our packets and bibs. Mom got us a room near the park so we didn't have to drive in the morning which was awesome! We lined up around 5:00 and we were ready to roll at 6:00am. I couldn't even see the starting line because of all the people that were there and we passed the starting line about 30 minutes after the race began. I got to see a bunch of characters I usually don't get to see and I even stopped and took a picture with Cruella De Vil because no one else would (she was the only one without a long line). My favorite part of the race was running through Anaheim stadium and being down on the field. I loved that part, plus that meant that we were in the home stretch of the race so I was very happy about that! There were lots a cheerleader squads from all over the region and lots of marching bands. We finished in 3:30 which is not that great of a time if you CARED!!!! All I know is that I finished and I earned that awesome medal and now I will never do it again. I guess I will never say never because you never know!
