The First Day of School is so exciting! My big Kindergartner didn’t really want me to walk him to class but I didn’t care, I was having trouble letting him go! I can’t believe my little baby boy is in school. The past few weeks Donovan has spoken mainly about his birthday and the school bus. He would tell me who he will sit with (his best friend (whoever that is)) and what seat he will use. He didn’t want to sit next to Roxy because she’s a girl and boys don’t sit with girls (apparently). Today is finally the day that Donovan got to ride the bus to school.
Roxann is very excited yet she still misses her friends from Moore. I can understand how she feels and my heart goes out to her. I told her that anytime she wanted to visit her friends to let me know and we can try to set up some play dates. She told me that she would like to invite a few friends from Moore to her Birthday Party and I told her that would be great. That made her feel better but I can see it in her face that she misses her friends and trying to make new friends will take more time then she wants. But I’m not too worried about her yet, she is so friendly and loving that who wouldn’t want to be buds with her? Her teacher is Ms. Ryan and Roxy gets to be upstairs with the big kids! WOW!
Donovan’s teacher is Mrs. Wieland. She seems like a super nice teacher who is extremely friendly and Dono told me today that he thinks she’s great. He told me that he learned about the rules of the class and if you don’t follow the rules then you get a “circle paper” to take home to your parents to sign. He also told me that he didn’t get one because he was a great listener. It will only be a manner of time before he gets one so hopefully he won’t be too sad when that day comes. He is happy to ride the bus and said that the bus driver sings happy birthday to people on the bus on their birthday. So he can’t wait till his birthday so the driver will sing to him. Goofy….
Aaron and I have been having fun making their school lunches in their new Planet Box lunches. They are actually a lot of fun to make. We have been trying to come up with new ideas with their peanut butter sandwiches. Aaron cut Roxy’s name out one day, I made a heart one day, and Aaron made a piggy face today. The kids come home and laugh about what Daddy did to their lunch and they are happy to eat it all. I don’t know how long this will last but for now, they think their lunches are a bunch of fun.
Hurray for our new school Winstead Elementary and goooooooooo Wildcats!!!
