My little girl woke up at 6:00 am, showered, dressed herself, brushed her own hair, and woke me up to tell me that she was ready to go to first grade. She had about two hours before her bus came so she got to watch one of her favorite shows before we headed to the bus stop. I gave her a big hug and told her good luck and that I loved her. She ran to the bus then turned around and ran back to me. She said that she forgot the "noseys". Seriously, it was a scene from a movie and she nailed it! I saw her sit down and Donovan and I waved to her as she drove away. I

anxiously waited until she came home to hear all about her first day. She came home and told me that she had a great time, she loves her teacher Mrs. Atkins, and that it was too hot to have recess outside so they had to play indoors. I am so proud of her and I can't believe how big she is getting! Mrs. Atkins seems to be a very nice lady and Roxy is looking forward to being in Mrs. Atkins' inaugural First Grade class. We were probably the only people in Roxy's kindergarten class to not request a specific teacher but I think Roxy will be fine and will do well this year. She said that she had to read to her teacher and she was proud of herself because the teacher didn't have to help her with any of the words. Great job Roxy!!!! Keep up the good work!
