A Bicycle built for Three!

Roxy has had a bike for about a year now and she asked us almost everyday to ride her bike. Unfortunately we only had one other bike that wasn't in very good shape. It needed new tires and lots of chrome polish. This summer Donovan started showing interest in bikes. We went to a few stores and found out pretty quick that he could not pedal a bike. We know that Jordyn wasn't going to be riding anytime soon so I found one of those bike carriers on sale and had a great idea. We can buy that carrier and Donovan can learn to pedal on our little Schwinn trike. Once he gets the hang of that then we will proceed with a "big boy" bike. At first Donovan wasn't happy about the "special seat." He really didn't want to ride with the baby because he was a big boy now. I put him in his seat while he was kicking and screaming and then I gave him my secret weapon...a lollipop. He sat still long enough for us to strap Jordyn in her seat but she was not a happy camper either (as you can see in that picture). Aaron needed a bike in order to tow that monstrous carrier so he got a new Schwinn cruiser. We now are a mobile family that has been on 7 bike rides in three days. Donovan has warmed up to his seat and loves to bark orders at Daddy to pass Roxy or go faster. We have come to really appreciate our neighborhood and how nice it is to ride around and look at the lovely trees. We rode our bikes to the pool for Roxann's swim team practice and we were very glad we did. The pool was packed and there were cars everywhere so I wouldn't have been able to park anyway. Hopefully the kid's enthusiasm for the bikes won't wear off anytime soon because we still have 12 weeks to go until school starts. Not that anyone is counting right?????
