We survived the weekend with lots of smiles and minor belly aches. The kids woke up Sunday morning and were so excited to see that the Easter Bunny came and they received little toys and candy. Roxann started to count her eggs to see if she had the same amount as her brother...she did. Then she checked out her new toy. Donovan went right to his basket and within
three minutes....half the eggs were empty and candy wrappers were littering our living room floor. He didn't even notice his new cars until Jordyn found them and then Donovan all of a sudden wanted to play with them. Amazing how a little sibling influence can make all the difference. Roxann noticed that Jordyn didn't get any candy and we explained that the Easter Bunny knows that Jordyn is way to young to eat candy so he's saving her share of candy until next year. But she still got a little toy that seems harmless on the outside but once we took it off of "demo" mode, I wanted to tear the thing apart and bury it in the backyard. With their new toys in hand (m
inus Jordyn's for mom's sanity) we sat down to some breakfast and then gathered around our computer to watch conference. We loved all the talks for many different reasons and once the morning session was over, I had to get down to business. I decided to host a Barbecue for my neighbors and I also had the missionaries coming the same evening. So my neighbors and myself didn't feel a little awkward, I asked our really good frien
ds, the Kubrickys to come over as well. They had family in town for the week so the total number of people to feed...16. After conference I had to start making the food for the evening. So I planned out my assembly line, set up my mini DVD player and assembled 86 steak kabobs for the BBQ. It took me 2 hours and 48 minutes which did cut into conference but thankfully, I could still hear it from where I was sitting. Needless to say, we had a few left over so our missionaries are going to be eating very well this week. I also made some beans and rice pilaf which NO ONE at the party had ever had before and they all loved it! They wanted the recipe and couldn't stop eating it. I decided to let them in on my secret and showed them a box. "Rice a Roni" can thank me later for the future spik
e in sales. We tried out our new grill and I think it works great so we will be barbecuing a lot this summer. Aaron made all the kids stay inside while he hid some Easter eggs in our backyard. The Kubricky girls were very helpful and they made sure Donovan and Roxy found plenty of the eggs. I told them they needed to take the candy with them when they left. Which I don't think they did so I have to play the candy police and hide all the candy the kids collected this weekend. All the kids had a great time searching our backyard and thankfully, only Aaron got a tick on him. EWWWWWW!!! We had a great time with our
friends and new neighbor friends and we are looking forward to doing it again.

Way to go with feeding so many people! Wow. I could NEVER do that!
I think Dono and Leah should be best friends. They are too much alike!
At Shaver let's put a piece of candy on the floor and watch them wrestle for it!
