Oh Christmas Tree!

We don't set up Christmas lights outside. It seems like that is a tradition that will start only once our kids are old enough to appreciate it. But they definitely appreciate the tree. Our tree is a permanent work in progress and that's what makes it fun. We will never have enough ornaments or lights on our tree. When Aaron and I married in 2001, we went to Florida on our honeymoon in November. Christmas was in full force and we saw so many cool looking ornaments that we had to get one to commemorate our trip. And once we did that, we set our tree's destiny. It was never meant to be a Disney only tree, it just happened that way. We knew we wanted some kind of theme to our tree, thanks to my dislike for chaos in Art. Our ornament wouldn't have worked with any other kind of theme besides that one. Now, we have a great tradition of searching as a family for one perfect ornament to go with our tree. This year, it was Captain Hook about to be eaten by the Crocodile. Who wouldn't want that on their tree? I admit that I cheat every year and go to Hallmark day after Christmas and buy a few for super cheap. If I hadn't, we would only have 7 ornaments on our tree. But we are very fond of our tree and we are excited that it is so unique. Instead of hide the pickle ornament, we hide the toy soldier from "Toy Story." Believe me, that is really tough to find. I still haven't found it this year. Maybe if any of you come over for a visit, you can find it. I could use all the help I can get.
