Carnton Christmas Party

The Carnton Christmas Party

Oh boy! I am just so happy that it is over! Polly Dotson and her whole family were absolutely awesome! The Williamsons sacrificed their Saturday morning to come and help us all set up for the party. Yvonne and Danny...you rock. The last time Aaron was sick, it was about 2 years ago. And so he decided to get sick during the weekend of the party. There goes my entire Activities Committee. So it was great to get to the church around 11:00am and see the Williamsons and the Dotsons waiting for me. Polly was smart enough to bring "Horton Hears a Who" to entertain the children while we all worked. Unfortunately, some of the adults were distracted and we all ended up taking a break to watch the movie. We finally finished the decorations around 4:00pm!!! Long day, it's not recommened. But this is just one of the 20 tables that ended up being decorated that night. Half of them had these gingerbread men as centerpieces while the other ten had little Christmas trees. Red and Green light strands were hung up all around the room. Trish Maples loaned us her Garland and we had cute little trees bordering the stage.

The Primary put on a great program. We have some very good sports in our ward. We even had a nice couple dress up as Mary and Joseph.

Overall, I think that is was a very good success. And it is all because of all the people that helped make it possible. All the people that brought food and all those who cleaned up. It was great to have such a fun crowd. The frames weren't the best idea because they all needed to be assembled, but I had my "unofficial" committee help me with that. I'm glad that I did it in hind sight. I was even lucky enough to have a bite to eat at this party. Now my vacation has officially started now that the party is over. We are on our way to Californ-i-a and can't wait to see everyone.
