Our cousins came and visited us for a week of Halloween and Birthday fun! We thought that we would explore some things that are hard to find in California. We went up to Kentucky and visited Mammoth cave. The kids all loved exploring this giant cave but Jojo was NOT a fan of the crickets that live in the cave.
We finished our tour of the cave with a lollipop while waiting for our bus to come and pick us up.
On the way home we stopped at A&W Rootbeer and enjoyed some wonderful floats in frozen mugs…YUMMY!
HALLOWEEN-
All the kids were ready to go and off they went to trick or treat in our neighborhood. Our neighborhood was packed with many kids. I found out later that a bunch of people come to our neighborhood from others to trick or treat.
Leah was Minnie Mouse and Dillan was a Red ninja
Donovan dressed up as Thor this year
Roxy decided to be Rapunzel
Jojo wanted to be Milli from “Team Umizoomi.” Her outfit was the homemade one this year. I made the dress and glued felt petals to make the flowers on the dress. I used a flat kick ball and spray painted it bubble gum pink than attached the felt ponytails. The ponytails have wire hangers in them to maintain their shape. I had to fill the ball with plastic bags so it would sit on her head correctly. Then I added a ribbon to keep it on. I made shoe covers and Jo wore her leggings and sweatshirt to stay warm. I thought it turned out awesomely.
Last but not least, Drew was a lion. Gwennie stayed home with Mommy while I studied for my A&P exam and passed out candy. It was too cold for her to go out with everyone but she didn’t seem to mind
Each kid came home with a sack full of candy and they only made it around the block. I can only imagine how much candy others who walked our whole neighborhood received.
