Thank you Miss Jenny for writing this blog!!!!
Baked with LOVE
Tyler and I had a great time making Gingerbread Men for Pre-school this week!
I've never made Gingerbread anything before, because I really don't like Ginger. (Not the person Ginger, but the spice) :)!!! Some of the kids liked the cookies and some did not. I did not either. But, we still had fun decorating them while we read and acted out
'The Gingerbread Man' this week!
Waiting patiently for them to cook and TA-DA: Gingerbread Men!!
We learned the letter Z this week and one day was craZy hair day! Here's Tyler with his mo-hawk! Henry wore his fo-hawk (never knew there was such a thing) and they argued all morning:
Henry: "No, it's a fohawk"
Tyler: "No, it's a mohawk"
Jonny got in there and said: "No, it's a ROOSTER head"
Ha ha ha! It made for interesting conversation at least!
Tyler LOVES his pre-school friends and waits anxiously at the door for them to arrive. On this particular morning he said, "I will sit on the stairs and wait for them." I thought he meant the inside staircase. He meant outside. The next thing I hear is the doorbell ringing like 10 times and then a frantic SCREAM!!! I was in the kitchen, so it took me a minute to get to the door. He panicked thinking that he was locked out - that glass door is hard to open.
So, now we sit on the inside step to wait for all you pre-school friends! Plus, it's been a little cold outside, so inside we will wait until Spring!
We put together a BIG Zoo puzzle:
We also practiced zippers, played with zoo animals, and cut with scissors that made zig-zag shapes. We watched the letter Z zig-zag song on www.starfall.com on a laptop and they LOVED that, except all I kept hearing was, "I can't see, I can't see" as they all crept a little closer to the computer screen. Don't forget to try that website at home if you haven't yet! It's great!
They also helped me decorate an online gingerbread man at www.starfall.com- we talked about the different shapes and colors we could use for his eyes, buttons, and nose. They loved this!
Here are their Gingerbread puppet masterpieces:
Decorating our Gingerbread cookies:
I didn't take many pictures this week. If I spent all my time taking pictures, I would be a photographer, not a pre-school teacher. It seems with all the holiday crafts, games, and treats, I haven't had a whole lot of extra time for taking pictures.
Oh, and if Santa is still looking for presents, this is what they told me this week:
Donovan: Hulk, Buzz, Woodie
Henry: Skeleton Costume
Corteney: trip to Disneyworld
Jonny: Batman castle
Wynter: doll house
Will: another fireman costume
Nicholas: garbage truck
Owen: MORE video games
Tyler: Optimus prime costume, Buzz costume
Zac: I don't know. His Mom said, "pillow pet".
Rick: Buzz, Batman,
I'm sure they said LOTS more, but that's all I can remember.
