Around the World in 80 Minutes

The Carnton Ward had their annual Small World activity this past Saturday (the 28th). We have people in the ward sign up for a certain country or state that they would like to share with the rest of the ward and share a food from that area. It was so much fun because we ended up having a great turn out for the activity. Thankfully, Brother Dixon took pictures of everyone so we finally have an archive going for our activities. We had people sign up for all kinds of places. Of course, I represented my sweet old Californ-i-a. I boiled some Articokes and had some mayo for them to dip the leaves in (butter was too messy) and I ended up eating a whole one by myself because I had to demonstrate how to eat the darn thing to many people there. I gave everyone a few leaves in cups and either they loved them, or hated them. It was really fun to see their reactions. I need to write all these things down so I don't forget them later. Starting by the stage we had the Pennington's and Dixon's represent Japan. The Kennelly's did Hawaii, Brady's did England, Harris' did Texas, Fiske's did Oregon, Vicky Scott did Guatemala, Todd Scott did Mexico, Whitney's did Brazil, The Young Men did Wisconsin (Yes, that's my hat he is wearing), Lunt's did Chile, Dotson's did "Heaven" (Lots of Chocolate), I did California, John Richards did Maryland, Deb Wright did Italy, Les Wright did Haiti, The Briscoes did Sephardim (?), Lux's, Kubricky's, and Gardner's did Cuba, India, and China (all mixed together), and the Lonergan's did Australia. So we had a great variety and I already have people saying that they can not wait until next year when we do this again. I'm am just relieved that it is finally over and now I get to concentrate on the new baby because our next activity isn't until May.
